| Bike Medic Program | |||
Universal
Ambulance maintains a Bike Medic support program. Made up of EMT's and
Paramedics program participants received specialized training in
handling mountain bikes with medical equipment during concerts and other
mass gathering venues. This picture shows team members
training with other law enforcement agencies in Macomb and Oakland
County's as a Universal Paramedic observes a practice scenario.

| Tactical Medic Program | |||
Our
Tactical Paramedics have received specialized training through the
School of International
Tactical Medicine which educates specific personnel to function in a
medical support role of a SWAT team. Universal currently provides and
trains with members of the Warren Police Department's SWAT team.
This program purpose is to facilitate the rapid extrication of wounded
officers during a police emergency and allows for critical life saving
interventions to be taken in seconds immediately following the injury of
an officer or other persons. Team members are trained to provide
treatment under hostile conditions, conduct remote assessments and
direct treatment, effect rapid rescues to hard cover or safety and used
improvised medical and rescue equipment.

| Rehab Support | |||
Universal
Ambulance provides Medical Rehabilitation services at fire scenes in
accordance with the standards of the National Fire Protection
Association. This service is provided to the communities of Center
Line, Warren and Sterling Heights. The service delivered to
fire fighters at a fire include: medical surveillance (vital signs,
etc.), provision of a shelter to warm/cool personnel and hot/cold
refreshments for persons at the fire scene. Our support bus
often serves as a gathering place and temporary shelter to those
displaced by the fire.
